In between a rock and hard decisions

Major decisions came in catagories that always had choices; Colleges, Relationships, Careers, Marriage, Children. One of the hardest decisions in my professional life came after I was married with children. Loving the corporate climb, I suddenly found myself downsized and very pregnant. I interviewed up until I was ready to deliver. But not too many companies hire pregnant professionals. After a very difficult delivery, I was ready to get out and work for someone else. But that was not my calling. After bonding with my daughter and looking into her eyes, her precious smile in her sleep, I wondered, as so many women do, "how do I leave her every day?" and "if I stay away from my career, how do I stay on top of my field or even competitive?"

So many women who decided, or in some cases a decision was made for them, to stay home for whatever reason, are filled with many concerns but still many choices. How to stay connected; How to share their gifts with others; How to juggle being a great mom and have a rewarding career; How to not lose skills; How to find a new role that will develop me for my future ambitions; and on and on. And in these times, so many very talented people are not finding jobs that match with their skills or have flexibility needed for the demands of life.
